This auction is for a 6 bottle case of 1998 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru from Comte Georges de Vogüé.
Burghound tasting note:
Yet another step up, especially since this contains all the young vine Musigny fruit of less than 20 years of age. Very ripe, elegant Chambolle red raspberry fruit yet this is clearly more reserved, bigger and more tannic than the straight 98 Chambolle and even more persistent on the long finish that lasts and lasts. As M. Millet observed, "This wine is a short trouser Musigny."
Tasted: Jan 01, 2001 Score: 92 Drink: 2008-2020
- Comments: Outstanding
