Description

Complete but 'glue-banded' label. Complete embossed capsule, and a VTS level - commensurate with age. All in all, 'a good bottle'.

A bit of browning. Sweet cherry, vanilla, some honey on the nose. Red fruits, sweet cherries, dried blueberries, honey and vanilla. The bottle benefited from decanting for 20 minutes and continued to improve for 4 hours in glass. Much more to this bottle than one of the others. Old but excellent.

Best of the bunch so far. Beautiful crimson without even a tinge of brown at the rim. Cork was moist all the way through but fully intact. Decanted and let sit for 15 minutes. Developed well in the glass over the next 30+ minutes. Floral and vanilla nose that manifested in the first tastes. As it developed, more tart cherries with some sweet chocolate and earth. Eventually some orange and honey. A really nice wine.

Drunk at Troquet-Boston ($50, cellar clearance). Decanted at table. Color deep ruby and still quite youthful. Leather, cedar, red florals on the nose. Palate came together after about 45 minutes of air, then showed a bright, sweet core of plummy red fruit, tobacco, cocoa. Vibrant and satisfying.
