FOR SALE: ONE BOTTLE OF 1979 KRUG COLLECTION, COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL BOX AND CERTIFICATION DOCUMENTATION

This unrivalled of all chamapagnes is being sold, with the bottle in mint condition. It has been looked very well since purchase, being stored in cool and dark conditions. The box is not perfect, but is in condition commensurate with age. I hope the pictures are able to show you exactly what is being offered for sale here. If you wish to see them in full clarity, please ask. I know that it may b not be easy to see them on here.

There is no superlative that do this bottle justice; suffice it to say that I doubt I will ever own a more fabulous bottle of champagne - or sell one!

Krug Collection is produced in extremely small numbers - indeed Krug do not release the specific numbers (I have this in a recent email from Olivier Krug). This bottle number is 1808. What this denotes is that when this particular bottle was released/sold, there were only 1807 left to be sold. So bottle number 1 will be the last and not the first to be released. Again - this was confirmed by Krug.

There are various tasting notes and praise available for those who look for it and I won't bore you with them. WS score is 95, Average score on Cellar Tracker is 96. It's appeal and lure is not just in the bottle contents however; it is also in the joy of owning such a rare and fine bottle.

Please see the values of this very very rare bottle on wine-searcher. Obviously its availability is extremely scarce and at times non-existent. I have placed a reserve that I believe is very fair and sensible, given the prestige and status of this champagne. The reserve is somewhat lower than the wine-searcher price.

The bottle will be sent very securely wrapped and fully insured, on receipt of cleared funds. Alternatively, collection in person can be arranged.
