Jancis Robinson
Quite dark crimson. Savoury, evolved, rather toasty nose. Round and mild and easy to like. (JR) (2/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A very good example of this estate, the 1996's saturated dark ruby/plum colour is accompanied by textbook aromas of black currants, smoky new oak, minerals, and tobacco. Well-made, with moderate tannin, excellent purity, and a medium-bodied, ripe, melted asphalt-flavoured finish, this [is a] seductive Lynch-Moussas. (RP) (4/1999)
In February 1998, Robert Parker wrote: "Lynch-Moussas is clearly on the comeback trail, as evidenced by the 1995 and 1996 efforts, which are two of the finest wines I have tasted from this Pauillac estate." Just tasted in 2015, the wine sings. Old school, Bordeaux-pure cassis and red fruits. Wonderful balance and length. Superb value*

Some Cellartracker notes

3/1/2019 - ERIKLAINEN WROTE:
Fist in velvet glove type of wine - Pauillac. Nose is dense yet talkative, dark stuff with a lot of cedar/cigarbox notes and only the slightest of barnyard. Off and on weak green notes but not disturbing in my world. Silky, powerful and long aftertaste. Very good. Not sure it is worth the money but not sure you can find same quality for less. Opened a Rochemorin 2011 alongside and that wine showed a lot more fruity character, a slight sweetness to it and nowhere near the complexity of this. Despite its age, this Moussas felt as though it was right in the drinking window but no signs of being tired. Fruit, acid and tannins - all in balance.

2/23/2019 - ARA KAFAFIAN WROTE: 91 Points
Drinking extremely well, best bottle I've had. Showing some evolution but holding on to fruit. At it's peak, not going to benefit from any cellaring, drink up.

2/11/2019 - WINESNOUT LIKES THIS WINE: 91 Points
Drinking beautifully now. Medium-bodied, velvety and smooth, lots of dark fruit, definitely an overachiever for the château. Solid fruit and excellent balance and finish. No need to rush.

12/21/2018 - CELLARV LIKES THIS WINE: 90 Points
Two bottles served as part of lunch with friends. Both consistent and showed really well - mature, elegant, drinkable, won't improve but on this form certainly no hurry if you enjoy mature claret. (12.5% ABV) 90+
