Description

For the last 30 years under the ownership of M Clément Fayat, founder of the regions largest public works contractor who also owns Ch La Dominique. The 23 hectares of vines are planted with 70% Cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and aged in oak. Originally Ch de Parempuyre it changed its name to Ch Pichon, much to the annoyance of the two rather better known second growths at Pauillac.
After much legal argy-bargy, M. Fayat changed the name yet again in around 1985 to its present title, thus soothing the nerves of Mme May de Lanquesin at Pichon Lalande...

This is an excellent estate, well run and producing excellent wines and the 'sleeping beauty' château itself is worth a visit.

The three bottles are in excellent original order and present a mature claret now probably at its best.
