"The 1,000 case cuvee of 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet (a blend of 65% Grenache,15% Cinsault,10% Syrah,and 10% Mourvedre) is a more saturated dark ruby/garnet color.The nose reveals intense aromas of blackberry jam intertwined with cherries,garrigue,pepper,and smoke.It is an outstanding effort,made in the modern style,but with plenty of the region's typicity".
