Immaculate Domaine making immaculate wines. Sadly, very rare. Old vines.

"The 2011 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a delightful bouquet with complex, mineral rich red currant and raspberry fruit that is linear and focused at the moment. There is wonderful definition as usual. The palate is medium-bodied with a smear of strawberry jam on the entry and then that heavenly mineralite kicks in towards the structure, precise and quite crystalline finish. Awesome. Drink 2016-2030+. - Feb 2014"

"The 2011 Charmes V.V. from Denis Bachelet is another great wine in the making. The deep and youthful nose jumps from the glass in a blaze of dark berries, black cherries, cassis, grilled meats, coffee bean, black minerality, woodsmoke and a nice touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very elegant this year, with a rock solid core of fruit, fine-grained and ripe tannins and outstanding focus and grip on the very long and very beautiful finish. This will be a stunning wine in the fullness of time. 2022-2065+. (Nov/Dec 2012)"

"Very deep colour. Gorgeous nose with an array of floral expressions. This wine was made from very small bunches and the depth shows in the long finish. 33% new oak is well integrated into the wine. Lightly floral, spicy and cherry-scented, this wine will bring great drinking pleasure fairly early on. Layered and intense; subtle and approachable, drink about 4-6 years from now."

"A blend of both natural and wood spice adds depth to the seductively perfumed nose of dark berry liqueur and violet aromas. There is plenty of earth influence to the beguilingly textured and sappy medium weight flavors that possess a suave mouth feel on the pure and gorgeously long finish. There is still some residual wood on the finale but the concentration is such that this should have no difficulty successfully integrating it in time. Another knockout effort in a long string of them for the Bachelet Charmes."
