Description

Clos de la Roche is a Grand Cru vineyard (or climat) and corresponding appellation of the Cote de Nuits sub-region in Burgundy. Covering about 42 acres (17ha) of land, the site is one of the largest Burgundy Grand Cru vineyards.

The wines from Domaine Armand Rousseau have developped over the years but have always kept the same spirit as when Armand and Charles were making then. The “Rousseau hand” is a style of wine very recognizable.
Fine, elegant and an honest, true expression of the vineyards through the Pinot Noir grape and a little piece of the winemaker.

Tasting Notes:
“Somber, reserved and serious with plum, cassis and black cherry fruit aromas lead to complex, concentrated and ultra pure and gorgeously textured mouth coating flavors. This is muscular, dusty and intense and possesses a firmly tannic spine yet retains ample finesse. While this doesn't quite have the depth of the best in this range, it's an impressive wine and most attractive. BH”
