Description

Something of a cult wine that is bio-dynamic and very rare. I can only find it at Selfridges.

Jérôme Bressy's Rasteau seems to be improving with each passing year. Deep, dark fruit in the glass, the nose offers expressive dark damsony fruit, dark cherry too with a discreet spice. Velvety, dense on the palate with sweet ripe fruit allied to notes of liquorice and pepper. A distinctive minerality is revealed to the finish. The texture here is so enticing - for a wine of this depth, it remains remarkably well-poised. The fruit refuses to fade on the finish, leaving an impression of tremendous elegance.

"70% Grenache, 15% Carignan, 15% other, biodynamically farmed. Dark greyish crimson. Lovely sweet fresh cherry fruit, pure and lively. Sweet fruit balanced by dry tannins. Very firm grip but it has the flesh to fill. Wonderfully classic Rhône Grenache blend. Full and long and savoury. A big wine but not at all brash. Not cheap but worth the premium."
