Tasting note (from barrel): Reduction knocks down the nose but there is good verve and freshness to the detailed, cool and restrained middle weight flavors that exude a fine minerality, all wrapped in a linear, focused and lingering finish. As it usually is, this is a wine of finesse and elegance. Burghound 88-91.

Tasting note (from barrel): A very fresh and high-toned nose features notes of cherry, blue berry, stone and hints of both floral elements and wood that complement the rich yet fine middle weight flavors that possess lovely detail and punch on the wonderfully pure and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is a wine of poise and Zen-like harmony. Burghound 91-93 (heart - outstanding)

2007 Morey St. Denis 1er cru Les Faconnieres
Tasting note: A cool but decidedly ripe extract of red pinot fruit nose that offers up hints of underbrush and wet stone gives way to highly complex, supple and impressively rich big-bodied flavors that possess excellent volume as well as another dimension of overall depth on the wonderfully long finish. Terrific quality and fashioned in a forward style. Burghound 92 (heart - outstanding)
