Description

A set of 8 extremely rare, as new-condition vintage Champagne/sparkling winr glasses from world renowned 11th generation Austrian glass manufacturers Riedel (founded in 1756) - their iconic handblown glassware is among the most beautiful, artisanal pieces to serve wine and Champagne from.
They are from my personal/family collection that I am reorganising.

These are insofar special as they date back several decades and are hallmarked accordingly (CJR) - however, they are still in virtually new (!) condition, even with the etched hallmarks fully intact.
While I personally remember not having seen those glasses used in at least 20 years (which would be before I was legally allowed to consume alcohol...) I can of course not guarantee that they are in 'de facto ' new condition.
However, the detailed images should give an adequate impression how beautifully they are preserved.

Furthermore, unlike many vintage glasses these are not made from thick, heavy glass but from extremely fine and light crystal that even rivals the contemporary Riedel 'Superleggero ' line and the glasses offered by Zalto.
This provides a quite a contemporary feel when holding them as does the elegant and minimalist design.

Last but not least these glasses no longer available and are therefore unique pieces in an unique design that one can not find easily at such a high standard of manufacturing.

The glasses are of course entirely hand-made and traditionally mouth-blown from crystal as is all glassware from Riedel 's high-end end lines.
The vintage Riedel hallmark (CJR for Claus Josef Riedel) is etched into the foot of each of the glasses - unbelievably, after decades, it has barely faded what again speaks for the excellent condition of those pieces.
