Amazingly vibrant and fresh. Great complexity, great acidity. I was worried that this had seen its prime, but it was absolutely great! Will not improve, but probably keep for many more years. (Almost 95 points.)

One word..brilliant! Maybe a few more superlatives, for a 25 year old wine. Tiny bubbles, great mouth filling body, lots left, but a pleasure to share on NYE 2010

An Evening of Wines from the 1980's (Ame Restaurant, San Francisco): Deep yellow with some browning. Transient fine bubbles. A whiff of oxidation that receded to show caramel and apple. Full bodied, powerful, dry and honeyed at once, if that makes any sense. Sturdy fruit held up for almost 2 hours. Excellent minerality. An absolutely great old Champagne that tonight had vigorous fruit and mature Champagne character phenomenally balanced on a razor's edge. I loved this bottle.

Apple, peach and strawberry on the open and invigorating nose with shellfish, hazelnuts and chalk. Steely cut to the richness.
Fullbodied, dry and zesty palate with sweet fruit and some dosage balancing the act. Moderate moussé. Shellfish, liquorice and nuts. Long.
Again a very nice showing. Very good stuff! Just so approachable after the 1985 RD.
