3 fantastic bottles of Barbaresco Calissano Riserva Speciale dated 1970.

Until 1872 Luigi Calissano was a well-known and appreciated iron merchant from Alba; that same year, however, with the help of his three sons, Vincenzo, Pietro and Giovanni and the contribution of some friends who later became partners, he began to work limited quantities of grapes and was immediately successful, so much so that, after a few years, he left the old headquarters in via Macrino, settled in the Richiardi house and set up his own business.
From Domenico Rossano, factor of the counts of Neive and former student of the French oenologist Oudart, he then had first-hand information on the Champenoise method and on the production of the "Petiot" wine: he dedicated himself, therefore, to the latter ,, in 1878, as many as 100 hectoliters. He then opened three sales branches, one in Genoa with Vincenzo, one in Turin with Giovanni and one in Milan with Pietro, thus officially giving birth, in 1891, to the company Luigi Calissano and Figli. Luigi Calissano continued to oversee the purchases of grapes on the Langhe and on the market square of Alba, alongside the production of red wines with the production of sparkling wine with the Champenoise method, a sector in which it had great success.
