Description

Neal Martin's tasting note from 2007:
"A great performance although initially the nose is closed and takes time before aromas of violets, plum, wild hedgrow and black cherries emerge. Lots of vigour, great definition. The palate is medium-bodied, very harmonious with good depth, less feminine than I have found it in the past. Firming up? Sinewy middle leading towards a game-tinged finish. Very good length with a hint of black truffle on the aftertaste. Superb. Drink 2010-2020+. Tasted May 2007."

"CDP and Spain, Plus Whites (Rincon 38, Mpls, MN): Very dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Dark fruit, violets, herb de Provence, mineral, dark berry fruit, licorice on the nose. The palate is medium bodied, kirsch, spiced, black cherry, dark fruit, savory, bright and deep. Long finish. Surprisingly this this rivaled the '01 tonight."

11/1/2014 - ELUEBCHOW WROTE: 90 Points
"This palate is densely packed with red and dark fruits, including blackberry, cherry, licorice and a hint of leather, finishing with some chewy tannins; I think this could use a few more years for more secondary and tertiary aromas to emerge, but drinking well right now"
