Description

Deep garnet core. Not as opaque as some of the other wines. A lovely, slightly brambly nose, hedgerow, blackcurrant and raspberries. A touch of black olives. Firm tannins, lovely balance, a little coarseness, but there is a lovely understated, crisp finish to this wine with a touch of dark chocolate. One of the best Calon-Segurs in recent years although too many during en primeur week demurred visiting chez Gasqueton. More fool them. Excellent. Tasted April 2006.
