Description

This wine has been care for at home and has been tasted recently.

There is a ruby core and a pale rim. The first nose is leather; cigar box; blackcurrants. The second nose, after a swirl, is of jammy red and black fruit.

The tannins are balanced; the wine is of medium body and length and there is more cigar box on the palate.

Tasted for Decanter by Stephen Spurrier:

'Good ripeness and attractive lift from Cabernet Franc, quite supple fruit with tannins to back it up, a classy wine. Drinking Window 2016 - 2022'.

From the Wine Society:

'Olivier Sèze was at the peak of his winemaking powers in 2012. Attractive, mature Médoc from a well-sited property near Saint-Estèphe. A blend of 49% merlot, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 15% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot, it spent 12 months in barrel (one third of which were new) before being bottled without fining or filtration. This has a cigar-box bouquet and plenty of mellow, savoury fruit on the palate.'
