Description

Two almost perfect bottles of first, a Canon Fronsac 1996 (slight bin soiled label) and a Medoc 2007 made by Lacombe (Gold medal Concours de Bordeaux 2009). The LACOMBE vineyards are located in the heart of the MEDOC Appellation. As the saying used to go during the Age of Enlightenment “just over an hour’s coach ride from Bordeaux. Vines, however, are not interested in looking for a weekend pile for a rich man from Bordeaux. They adopt a terroir for good. It is now well known that the terroir is not limited just to the soil. The climate is different in this northern part of the peninsula because it is subject to two water masses: the Gironde and the Atlantic. The wind, another essential element of the terroir consisting of constant currents of very humid air, provides the leaves with a specific and unique micro supply of water.
