3 bottles of Chateau Montrose 1989. Perfect fill levels into neck; slightly bin soiled labels.

Robert Parker 96: "The more rustic behemoth, the 1989 Montrose, is a large-scaled, chewy, dense offering revealing a garnet/purple color to the rim. It possesses huge aromas of beef blood, black currants, minerals, licorice, and earth. A staggering effort, it is not far off the mark of the perfect 1990. Hedonist's Gazette Sep 2002."

Neal Martin 96: "Tasted at Handford’s 21st anniversary tasting. One of the great wines for this Saint Estephe “king”, the 1989 continues to offer immense pleasure. It has a very fragrant bouquet with blackberry, sandalwood, mint and sloe all with very fine delineation. The palate has a Pauillac-like structure with firm tannins, cedar and freshly rolled tobacco dominating the middle, the finish very harmonious and natural. It has such beguiling freshness and class and though not a powerful Montrose like the 1990, it is one of those graceful things: a graceful Saint Estephe. Drink now-2025+ Tasted October 2010."

Wine Spectator 96: "Intense aromas of crushed blackberry and mineral turn to dried flowers and dried fruits, staying fresh on the nose. Full-bodied, offering big, round tannins and loads of ripe, seductive fruit. This is decadent and wild, turning nutty and fruity. A beautiful bottle. This is very close in quality to the legendary 1990.—'89/'99 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2009)."
