Wine Society notes at purchase: “Wonderful, scented aroma of ripe fruit flavours characterise this supremely polished first-growth. A beautiful Claret”.

BBR: “Fabulous dense inky-black colour, gorgeous explosive bouquet of black fruits and graphite. Typical Mouton, flashy and exotic.Very rich and generous on the palate, concentrated sweetness, fleshy, but with good balancing acidity. Enjoyable now but in no danger of tiring for many years”.

Blend of the 1990 vintage: 9% Merlot, 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc

Highest quality provenance: Wine purchased en primeur from The Wine Society and held ever since in their temperature-controlled cellars in Stevenage.
