Description

A bottle of Bonnes Mares produced from the legendary aristocratic vineyards of Comte Georges de Vogüé and the excellent 1969 vintage which produced long lived wines.

Bottled in the region of production (possibly at the domaine?); capsule very good condition with a few minor scuffs and a small crease to the side; Wine Society label slightly cellar stained but in good condition; level 3 cm below the cork; no evidence of seepage; colour and clarity excellent; a light, powdery sediment in keeping with a wine of its age. A fully mature wine that can be drunk with pleasure now or cellared for many years. This bottle has been stored in a natural cellar

Lot 30 BONNES MARES 1969 COMTE GEORGES DE VOGUE -
Ullage 3.5cm, bin-soiled labels, excellent color and clarity.
Estimate 800 — 1,100 USD (651 - 895GBP) - LOT SOLD. 2,356 USD (1,916 GBP).
Michael Broadbent in his "Vintage Wine", says:
A wonderful wine....I had noted it had a slight powdery sediment in the bottle after (wisely) decanting; lovely colour, the real thing - a beautiful ripe, elegant 'beetroot' Pinot; excellent flavour, great length though with a curious upturned tannic finish. Very refreshing.
