Description

Tasting description is as follows:-

Great leather and meat nose, cherry a bit medicinal but great stuff. Cherry, bit blueberry, boysenberry on the palette. Great mouth feel, covers the mouth in a really nice way. Medium plus weight. Medium acid. Soft tannins. Very perfumie nose. I find it has some Bordeaux qualities. After an hour chocolate cherry flavors come out. Great wine. Really like the mix of leather and fruit. This is in a good place right now, but might be even better in 5 years.



Label detail is as follows:-

Dalla Valle Vineyards is located on a plateau 400 feet above the Napa Valley floor, on the East side of Silverado Trail on Oakville Hill. This provides a perfect exposure to the sun and is blessed with a cool breeze from San Fransisco Bay which helps reduce summer temperatures, especially at night.
The reddish colored soil at Dalla Valle Vineyards is comprised of 70-90% fractured rock of volcanic origin and the fractures are filled with clay loam and clay soil, providing a pathway for the vine roots.
All of that, plus a low yield of approximately 2.5 tons per acre produces grapes of a very high quality which are the foundation of Dalla Valle Cabernet, a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc.
