Description

Anne Gros is one of the very top winemakers in Burgundy, and although this wine comes from a lowly appellation, it is made with the same care and skill as her Grand Vins (many of which now sell for hundreds of pounds per bottle).

The vines were planted in the late 1990s, on a brand new site on the high ground above Vosne Romanee, carefully selected for its geology, favourable exposure and micro-climate.

The 2008 was impressive but a little austere in in its youth, but has developed into a really delightful & classical bottle of white burgundy.

"Reassuringly pale in the glass. Fresh on the nose with hints of pear and delicate oak. Sinewy on the palate but with great elegance and surprising depth and persistence of finish. Great food wine, drinking well but no rush."
