Description

This Case contains:

2 x 2002 Keyneton Estate Euphonium, Henschke, Barossa
2 x 2000 Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon, Henschke, Eden Valley
1 x 2002 Mount Edelstone, Henschke, Eden Valley
1 x 1999 Hill of Grace, Henschke, Eden Valley

Keyneton Estate Euphonium

Purple/black color. Deep nose of black fruit, lots of mint, some salty beef blood, and pepper. The palate show a lot, but seems to have more underneath. Lots of fruit, a lot of earth and spice, moderate tannin, and decent acidity for the style. It finishes well with no bitter shiraz funk. This is a very good wine that would be better with 3-5 years of bottle time and probably will last 10-15. (92 pts.)

Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon

"Bright, deep red-purple; the bouquet offers clean, gently ripe blackcurrant and mulberry fruit together with a hint of cedar; the classy, sophisticated, ultra-smooth and supple palate has excellent flow and mouthfeel. For the record, the wine does have a percentage of Merlot and Cabernet Franc included."
James Halliday, Wine Companion Website, Tasted Feb 2003. 95 Points

Mount Edelstone

The 2002 Mount Edelstone Shiraz is spectacular. Its dense, opaque ruby/purple color is followed by a big, smoky perfume of roasted meats, creme de cassis, blackberries, licorice, and barbecue spices as well as a fabulously long finish that lasts nearly a minute. This flamboyant, exotic, full-bodied, rich, unctuous 100% Shiraz was aged in 80% new American and French oak for 18 months. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. 96 Points Wine Advocate

Hill of Grace

Crafted from vineyard blocks ranging between 52-144 years of age. "The prodigious 1999 Hill of Grace is a magnificent Eden Valley Shiraz. Its inky/ruby/ plum/purple color is followed by a fragrant perfume of black fruits intermixed with underbrush, dried herbs, vanilla, and spring flowers. Full-bodied, magnificently concentrated, pure, and delineated, this gorgeous, still young, compelling Shiraz is another example of a vintage that more and more appears to be underrated. It should hit its prime in 2-4 years, and last 15-20. 98 Points!" -eRobertParker.com
