Description

The Carillon family is one of the oldest in Burgundy, their ancestors dating back to 1520. Louis created the domaine in 1983 which is now run by his son, Jacques. They own 12 hectares - 8 of which make up Puligny Montrachet, their trademark bottlings. They vinify traditionally in oak barrels - some of which are new - before being blended and resting in stainless steel vats prior to bottling. The results create a subtle spiciness that is well integrated and which adds additional complexity and which respects their unique vineyard characteristics.

Carillon's is far and away the best Referts.A wine of substance, depth and class. This isno exception. It doesn't have the mineralityof the Perrières, but it is full bodied, rich,ample, balanced and long on the palate.Fine too.
