Description

A 3 bottle pack of Savigny Premier Cru Aux Clous from this family run winery (run by 2 sisters) in Savigny-Les-Beaune:

2 x 2010 Savigny 1er Aux Clous
1 x 2009 Savigny 1er Aux Clous

This wine, which is difficult to source in the UK, has just reached maturity and will make for perfect drinking over the festive period.

Bill Nanson features the domaine in his book "The Finest Wines of Burgundy", and has this to say of the wines:

"They may not be darkly coloured, but they are charming and elegant and still offer more than enough depth to prevent them from becoming facile". He goes on to say "I recommend in particular the premier crus Les Talmettes and Aux Clous…."

The 2009 was purchased direct from the domaine, the 2010 in bond from a UK based merchant. Since purchase all 3 bottles have been stored in my spiral cellar. Bottles are in excellent condition with good fill levels - see photographs.
