Description

Dark and weighty for a pinot. Focused black cherry fruit. At first, lots of that amazing high quality oak. At first, lots of that amazing high quality oak. After hours of being open, it integrates very well and more of the secondary notes of game and forest floor start to emerge. Improved on day 2.After hours of being open, it integrates very well and more of the secondary notes of game and forest floor start to emerge. Improved on day 2.3Beautiful dark cherry blast with earthy, mossy aspects providing a bass line to prevent this from being fruit/boring. Gorgeous.Consumed over three days, just kept getting better. Nose fairly reductive to start with, but dark fruit and some wood cane forward with air. The palate is fairly broad and heavy although the wine is somewhat closed day one. There is good sweetness lurking in the background and day three it is singing. No signs of oxidization at all.Just a hint of reduction but breathes up beautifully quite quickly. There's some floral/spicy lift to the wine and it is perfumed, rich and beautifully balanced. Despite the creamy nature of the fruit profile it has some tension to the finish and possesses excellent length.
