Dark and weighty for a Pinot. Focused black cherry fruit. At first, lots of that amazing high quality oak. After hours of being open, it
integrates very well and more of the secondary notes of game and forest floor start to emerge. Improved on day 3.Beautiful dark cherry blast with earthy, mossy aspects providing a bass line to prevent this from being fruit/boring.After day 3 just kept getting better. Nose fairly reductive to start with, but dark fruit and some wood cane forward with air. The palate is fairly broad and heavy although the wine is somewhat closed day one. There is good sweetness lurking in the background but day 3 and it is singing. Just a hint of reduction but breathes up beautifully quite quickly.
