Twelve bottles in total. The wines:

i) 3 x Fourrier 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 2003 - this wine needs no introduction. The flagship wine of one of the most highly regarded domaines in all of Burgundy.

ii) 3 x Georges Mugneret 1er Cru Chaignots 1999 - well known and highly regarded grower, fantastic vintage, lovely vineyard.

iii) 3 x Chanson 1er Cru Clos des Mouches 1996 - mature 1er cru Burgundy from a wonderful vintage.

iv) 3 x Alphonse Mellot Sancerre Rouge "En Grands Champs" 2006 - Pinot Noir from the Loire - Alphonse Mellot is the certainly the most highly regarded grower of Pinot in Sancerre. He produces a couple of highly priced and very hard to find super-cuvees, of which this is one.
