"Since 1996,their Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee La Reine des Bois has been one of the stars of the vintage.The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee La Reine des Bois boasts a dense purple color,a full-bodied,opulent style,moderately high tannin,sensational concentration,and abundant aromas and flavors of spring flowers,blueberries,blackberries,cherries,and spice.It is a meaty,fleshy,tannic effort that brings to mind the 1998.A brilliant wine for the vintage,it should be exceptionally long lived. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025".

In a very recent tasting note for The Wine Advocate,Jeb Dunnuck raised the rating on the 2005 La Reine des Bois to 97 Points:-

"The Delorme brother's 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee La Reine des Bois has been incredibly consistent for me,and is always an upper-90s scoring wine.A big,full-bodied structured effort,its inky purple color is followed by a terrific bouquet of ripe black fruits,toasted spice,graphite,chocolate and garrigue.Made up from 80% Grenache,10% Mourvedre,5% Syrah,and the rest Vaccarese,brought up 30% in oak barrels and 70% in stainless steel,it will have another 10-15 years of prime drinking".
