Description

Vieux Télégraphe is a classic Châteauneuf blend, the elegant 2000 vintage possesses 14.8% alcohol, along with a deep ruby/purple color, charming, rich, fruitiness, and firm tannin in the finish. With loads of freshness, copious quantities of pepper, seaweed, and black fruit characteristics, and a distinctive minerality, this full-bodied, sweet 2000 requires 2-3 years of cellaring; it should age well for 15-16 years. Anticipated maturity: Now-2018.Robert Parker(91 pts)

Hermitage La Chapelle from Jaboulet, will be of interest to all Rhône fans, the vintage being well received in the south, and with some good reports from the north as well. The outstanding, elegant 1998 Hermitage La Chapelle's dark plum/purple color is followed by scents of new saddle leather, black currants, blackberries, and underbrush. In the mouth, the wine reveals sweet tannin, medium to full body, excellent depth, and an intriguing smokiness. (90pts. Robert Parker)
