Lot size: 1 bottle of 750 ml each Wine type: Red, 1990 vintage
Tax status: Duty PaidQuestion Mark Origin: Pauillac, Bordeaux, France
Fill level: Into Neck (IN)Question Mark Grape variety:

Two bottles, selling in two separate lots.

These are in excellent condition - amazing for their age, from a private Yorkshire cellar. I knew the owner very well and these will have been lying undisturbed in his private cellar since purchase, originally from the Wine Society en primeur (it states 'Selected and Shipped by the Wine Society' in the black band at the bottom of the front label).

Both bottles still have their paper wraps, just about intact but in less than perfect condition. Both the bottles themselves are pristine.

Both levels are into the neck, one 1/4" below the capsule, one 1/2" below the capsule. The capsules are unmarked, and not showing any signs of swelling, leakage or deterioration.

Jancis Robinson's tasting note: May 2015
This was served blind, coincidentally alongside Monte Bello 1991. As when I was lucky enough to taste it at our British Airways wine committee reunion last December, this is a particularly sweet, rich Latour and is already hugely enjoyable even if it seemed to monumental in its youth. Of the two professionals trying to identify the wine, I thought it was a 1990 (and had been told it was a left bank bordeaux) while the other taster wondered whether it was a right bank wine, so exuberant is it. Beautiful completeness and balance - not to mention a gloriously luscious finish. A dream wine.

Wine Spectator
This is one of my favorite wines ever. Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. It's hard not to drink it now. '89/'90 Bordeaux non-blind horizontal. Best after 2008. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2005
