Lot size: 2 bottles of 750 ml each Wine type: Red, NV/Assorted vintage
Tax status: Duty PaidQuestion Mark Origin: Chorey-Les-Beaune, Burgundy, France
Fill level: Into Neck (IN)Question Mark Grape variety: Pinot Noir

The lot consists of two bottles of Tollot-Beaut from Chorey-Les-Beaune Burgundy:

One bottle of 1987 Tollot-Beaut Aloxe-Corton (Cote D'Or).
One bottle of 1995 Tollot-Beaut Savigny-Lavieres Premier Cru (Cote D'Or).

Forgotten, but discovered with some other old vintage Burgundies, under other cases of wine in my cellar.
These two bottles of Tollot-Beaut are now probably beyond their drinking window and on the decline.
However, there may be still some enjoyment to be gained from drinking over-the-top Burgundy!
The likelihood is that these wines will have an acidic backbone and have lost fruit, but there may still be subtle nuances of coffee, together with some smoky, meaty, savoury, pruney flavours, with the acidity holding the wine together.
The bottles have been kept horizontally in perfect storage conditions since purchase.
From a top grower,Tollot-Beaut (who for decades has bottled its wine on its own estate),if these wines are in reasonable shape, they should be an ideal match with feathered game, rabbit or hare, paired with a mushroom based sauce.
