Lot size: 2 bottles of 750 ml each Wine type: Red, 1982 vintage
Tax status: Duty PaidQuestion Mark Origin: Médoc, Bordeaux, France
Fill level: Base of Neck (BN)Question Mark Grape variety:

A pair of very similar bottles from the ground-breaking 1982 vintage.
Both have levels at Base Of Neck. The labels - see photos - are complete but have some slight cellar marks. The embossed capsules are in excellent original order.

Under the same ownership as Léoville Las Cases and Nenin, the Delon family, Potensac needs no introduction to Bordeaux enthusiasts.

Some recent Cellartracker comments :

Bottle in perfect condition with a bottom neck fill and top third of cork still dry. Garnet with a translucent rim, would have guessed mid 90s in terms of colour. Great balance immediately upon pulling the cork. Forest floor and leather join the medium bodied fruit, good acidity adds freshness, fine to medium tannins appear with more air. Short to medium finish. Not really a great Bordeaux but very nice now with or without food. No reason to wait longer but well stored bottles will easily drink well for another 10 years

5/14/2018 - TOINY LIKES THIS WINE:92 Points
Drinking very well, still some freshness and smells of Tobacco and Leather. Has a few more years ahead, superb Vintage.

12/28/2016 - CAPACIOUS LIKES THIS WINE:92 Points
Drinking very well now, well into secondaries but I think it's got 5-7 years still in there.

1/2/2016 - COOBERP WROTE:92 Points
Impeccable. Ripe mixed currants, intense cedar, and cinnamon on the nose. Impressive concentration and palate weight for a mature wine of modest pedigree. Refreshing acidity that leaves an invigorating bite on the aftertaste. Structure to go for another decade easily. Must find more.
