On 11 May 2015 at 08:44, the seller added the following description:

"Broodingly backward and in need of considerable bottle age,the 1988 is a classic expression of Lafite. This deeply colored wine exhibits the tell-tale Lafite bouquet of cedar, subtle herbs, dried pit fruits, minerals, and cassis.Extremely concentrated, with brilliantly focused flavors and huge tannins, this backward, yet impressively endowed Lafite-Rothschild may well turn out to be wine of the vintage! Anticipated maturity: 2000-2035".
(94 Points).

Robert Parker. (The Wine Spectator. October 1994).

"Beautiful and subtle on the nose, with mineral, berry, licorice and dark chocolate.Full-bodied,with super silkytannins and a pretty balance of fruit and mint.Long and caressing.Real claret here.Everyone talks about 1989,but this is very close in quality"
(94 Points).

James Suckling. (WineSpectator.com 2009).

This bottle was bought as Futures (En Primeur) in the USA.It was then stored in perfect conditions in an underground cellar until October 2010,when it was transferred to purpose-built,temperature-controlled cellar in the UK.Apart from the label being slightly age stained with a few small marks,it is in excellent condition, with the wine fill into neck and the label and capsule in a very good state.

The bottle has a US strip label.
