Description

"This is so decadent and exciting on the nose, with very ripe fruit, tobacco, meat and cedar.Full-bodied,offering amazing raspberry fruit in the core of the palate.Ultrapolished, velvety tannins wonderfully coat every inch of your palate. This will age for years ahead, but it's so lovely now.Much better than many people think".
(94 Points).

James Suckling (The Wine Spectator. '89/'99 Bordeaux blind Retrospective. 2009).

"Very rich, dark crimson core that is ruby at the rim.A youthful colour. The nose is ripe and meaty with a mass of dusty, olive and blackcurrant fruit.A nicely vegetal quality.Palate is quite full and the fruit is ripe with rich tannins that are sweet and deep. There is an edge of plum-skin bitterness and acidity that gives lovely balance.A nice sense of roundness too with sweet vanillin oak showing up in a long, harmonious finish.Lovely wine".

Tom Cannavan's winepages.com 2004.

"The wine's depth and colour at this stage could well be imagined;its nose developing very good fruit and flesh,as did the palate.Full-bodied with 100% new oak providing a very spicy aftertaste. Most recently:fabulous cedar and Cabernet aroma;lovely fruit and components.Rarely the easiest of red Bordeaux to get to grips with at an early stage. It holds great promise. Drink 2005-2030". (*****).

Michael Broadbent. (The Great Vintage Wine Book Two).

La Revue du Vin de France awarded this wine 19/20 Points.
