Description

"This is a very aromatic Grange, that seems to be a product of a vintage where the wines were showing extremely well young. It is dense purple, with a sweet blackberry, cherry nose and some subtle cedar and licorice in the background, unctuously textured, thick, full, without as many nuances as some of the greatest vintages of Grange, but very concentrated and dense.Anticipated maturity: now-2017".
(92 Points).

Robert Parker. (eRobertParker.com February 2002).

"What an amazing colour. There are some dense and youthful wines in this tasting, but this beats them all.Deep,purple-black wine.On the nose, there are some intense ripe fruits. The palate is again massive, eclipsing that of the previous wine.Lush, yet structured, with integrating tannins.A behemoth of a wine, and yet almost paradoxically it is seamlessly put together, elegant even, with finely balanced acidity,it glides across the palate. There is some pickling spice complexity to the plentiful fruit.Bags of potential here.Wonderful.No surprises when the label was revealed - this had to be something special".
(18.5+/20 Points).

Chris Kissack. (Winedoctor. December 2002).

A recent CellarTracker Tasting note on the 1992 Grange:-

"Over the years I've had many bottles of Grange, and this was as good as any previous one.Full, rich and powerful aromas of red and black fruits with sweet American oak.Very complex. The wine is still full of fruit,full-bodied,but with perfect balance. It is still wonderfully vibrant, and should last for more years.Very long sweet aftertaste. An older Grange bought near release and properly stored is a true treasure!".
(100 Points).

CellarTracker. (9/9/2016).
