Description

TWO lots of three bottles, straight from a previously unopened wooden case. All are in perfect condition.

Bourgneuf which is situated behind Ch Trotanoy, has 10 hectares under vines planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Previously known as Bourgneuf-Vayron it is now owned by the 6th generation of the Vayron family.

Reputed for constantly producing good intense Pomerol at reasonable prices, this 2003 will be ready to drink now and for a couple of years to come.

What a tasty wine! Very similar to the February showing: black fruit, espresso, earth, leather, and minerals. Great pairing with our dry-aged steaks (rib eye and strip steak), which added extra complexity. We got these for $26.40 and they were a great buy! Drink now (we didn't decant, but you could) but these have some time, too.

Simple but nice enough and better than you might think for the price (I think I paid around £30). Ripe, plummy nose with some cedar and a bit of barnyard. This has lost some fat since the last time I had it and they aren't going to get any better than this.

Mixed Wines at the Wedge and Wheel (Wedge & Wheel, Stillwater, MN): Very dark red color. Slow-O for 2 hours, drank 1 glass over an hour. OOh, love that nose, damp earth, a bit of funk, saddle leather, black fruit, perfumed. The palate is medium full to full bodied, earthy, minerals, perfume, funk, earthy, black fruits, layered, leather, a touch of barnyard, long finish.
