Description

"Henri Duboscq brilliantly orchestrates this Saint-Estèphe. It offers a very dark colour for this exceptional vintage. The Haut-Marbuzet 2010 displays a nose of forest floor and blackberry cream along with spicy and dark chocolate notes. The palate is sumptuous, dense, and fleshy with creamy, rich tannins that do not lack freshness or dynamism. Cabernets Sauvignons are indeed racy. This wine combines density and tannic elegance. The finish ends with very persistent aromas and confirms the great ageing capacity of this wine that will have to be cellared before its true fineness can be enjoyed".
(17/20 Points).

Jancis Robinson MW. (JancisRobinson.com).

"Bright, saturated deep ruby. Aromas of dark cherry, cassis, cocoa, brown spices and underbrush, lifted by a whiff of mint. Juicy, sappy and nicely concentrated, with good density to the slightly exotic flavors of blackcurrant, red cherry, blackberry and smoke. A rich, sexy wine in typical Haut-Marbuzet fashion, and also very nicely focused. Finishes long and fruity, with firm but very smooth tannins. Haut-Marbuzet is frequently one of the best buys in Bordeaux and this 2010 is a real stunner".
(91-93 Points).

Stephen Tanzer. (International Wine Cellar. May 2011).

2010 was an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux:-

"It is an inescapable truth that 2010 has produced another compelling year of Bordeaux that will go down as a prodigious vintage alongside 2009.
Take your pick - this news is either tragic or mythical, but I have tasted enough wines from 2005,2009,and 2010 to realize that these may be the three greatest Bordeaux vintages I have tasted in my career".

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate).

The most recent tasting note on this wine by Neal Martin:-

"I was a bit smitten by this under blind conditions. It has an intense bouquet with blackberry, black olive and cigar box scents that gently unfold.Returning after five minutes,it seems to get better and better in glass. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins,a fine line of acidity, plenty of tarry black fruit with a hint of sandalwood and leather on the satisfying finish. This is one of the best releases in recent years".
(93 Points).
