Description

Fine ripe fruit aromas (plum and cherry) on the nose plus some roasted meat and smokey characters. Fine grained tannins and good persistence in the mouth. Well balanced. [Bid for Wine's Note]

Vigorous spicy black cherry, blackberry, plum, and licorice bombard the nose and palate. Quality French oak supports the fruit. It has a long finish. Drink now, or keep for 10 to 12 years.
Rating: 94 points. J. Halliday

WINEMAKERS NOTE

We pick the fruit only from "C" block. This was the first block of Shiraz we planted and it won a gold medal in its first year in 1988. Over the past 10 years we have reduced the yield from this block from 4 tonne to the acre to less than 2.5 tonne. This has the effect of concentrating the fruit flavours, and gives the wine more depth.
Following maturation in French oak for 20 months we let the wine mature in the bottle for a further 12 months. Although drinking well now it will, with careful cellaring, last up to 13 years. In short supply, dont let this opportunity slip by.

Offered at £9.40 a bottle (£112.80 a case) elsewhere.
