Description

I have a bottle of 1906 Louis Roederer Brut (Extra Dry) Champagne. The bottle is a 37.5cl size (assumed as there is no specific reference visible) and is in very good condition, with the high kick up that is normal for bottles of this ag. The foil and wire are completely intact and in a very fair condition considering they are over a 100 years old. The neck label is completely intact and in good condition; and very clearly depicts the Roederer Logo and year. The main label is in poor condition, with half of it coming away and some missing (worn away). One can just about make out 'Roederer' and 'Reims' and some partial wording which almost certainly is 'EXTRA DRY'.

The contents appear fine, with no cloudiness to speak of, and little in the way of evaporation. Whether or not it is drinkable is obviously open to question. I'm aware that 1906 was a superb vintage. I have also been told that this bottle has spent the majority of its life in a cellar in a house in London. For the last few years, it has been kept horizontal at a steady and humidity-controlled 14 degrees. So you never know. To be honest, I personally wouldn't even dream of finding out.

I have not found anything available or for sale that comes close to the age, or is comparable to this bottle. The oldest bottle of Roederer I have seen for sale one from the 1930's. I would therefore not even wish to guess how rare something like this is.

Please see the pictures. I know these pictures aren't exactly totally clear on here and I am happy to send them to whoever asks for them - they are very clear and defined full size; and should be able to show the bottle in much clearer detail.

The bottle will be send extremely well packaged and insured (comfortably above the value it is reaches on here). Due to the potential cost of insurance, the postal cost given, may change.
