Description

"Understandably hard in cask and,as usual, slow to develop.Classic.Lovely flavour and texture.Spicy.Silky tannins and slightly astringent. This has a future". ****(*).

Michael Broadbent (Vintage Wine. 2002)

A couple of more up to date tastings I have located on CellarTracker:-

"It had the classic Bordeaux vintage aroma and taste, with moderate amounts of black and red fruit, lots of oak,a hint of raisins, orange, and a hint of game/meaty taste, and very slight tannins.Medium-bodied and colour was brick red.I had this wine with seafood, and my family enjoyed it.I decanted it for a hour before consuming it,but concluded that it will taste best after 2 hours of decanting".
(91 Points).

FF183. (CellarTracker. 10/2/2013).

"This wine was real nice! Dark color with a small orange rim.The nose is open, but not modest in intensity. There are notes of ripened fruit (mostly dark),some pencil shavings, some oak,and the smell of a fully ripened wine I cannot define in another way.The tasting of the wine was sweet, lots of tannins still there, good structure, full, astringent, and still quite a lot of fruit there. The fruit can barely cope with the tannins, but overall it is a good wine that still can age a few years".
(94 Points).
