This auction is for a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1955. It was inherited from a Scottish estate where it has been cellared for the past 25 years that I know of, and probably since being purchased after release.Stored in my own personal cellar since purchase.
The Wine Spectator review of this exceptionally rare vintage is :
"A very ripe style, with an abundance of tobacco fruit, although not as concentrated as the '59. Lovely silky finish" Outstanding. 91
From the very good 1955 vintage, this rare 1955 bottle of Petrus scores 91/100 Wine Society points and is velvety and suede textured and is rich and powerful with a magnificant bouquet and a creamy laid-back taste"
Everything about the wine is original and the label is very clean (with a small amount of damage on the bottom left corner as seen in the photograph)also signs of slight corrosion to the capsule but otherwise excellent for its age..
