VINTAGE: 2013
VARIETAL COMPOSITION: Merlot
VINIFICATION: Vinified in the
traditional method with a maceration
period of 10 - 14 days at 28 - 30 °C in
stainless-steel tanks. The wine matured for
over than 10 months in oak casks of 25 to
42 hl and in two or three year-old
barriques.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12.8% Vol.
COLOR: Intense and deep ruby red.
BOUQUET: Intense and harmonic.
With notes of ripe blackberry fruits, hints
of menthol, liquorice and vanilla.
PALATE: Full-bodied and smooth, with
a good structure. Fresh and fruity,
mineral and elegant, tannins of perfect
quantity and strength. Mineral and
persistent at the finish.
SERVING TEMPERATURE:
16 - 18 °C
AGING: The Giornico Oro 2013 will
reach its full expressive potential
beginning in 2015 and will continue to
develop in character through 2022 and
beyond if properly cellared.
