Clearly this is a piece of history, as well as being incredibly rare, the date of production of this wine places it right in the middle of WWII and the 'reserved for England' tag around the base of the foil and red print accross the front label detailing maximum prices are a window into the past.

One of a pack of six war vintage champagnes I purchased some time ago from a private cellar - the case they were in had been laid down in ideal cellar conditions in 1950 and had not been touched since. The level is perfect as is the label. Without opening this I cannot give a report on the condition of the wine, but the seals are all intact, there is no sign of seepage and everything indicates that it should be in tip top condition and fully drinkable.
