La Bataillère (aux Vergelesses) is a small section of the Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Vergelesses climat that has its own Premier Cru designation.It produces both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.
The 1.87 hectare (4.62 acre) vineyard is a monopole belonging to Albert Morot, and is considered one of the better sites in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Its name comes from an earlier owner, a M.Bataille.
Until recently the property was planted entirely with Pinot Noir., which still covers 1.2 hectares (3 acres). The red wine has a reputation for being more full-bodied than many others in the area.
