What can I say. Chateau Margaux 1889 vintage (Bidforwine only shows up to 1900!) 75 cl bottle. Imagine a 131 year old wine. Maybe Napoleon drank the other half – ha! What a gift for that person who has everything. probably not very drinkable as it is only just over half full but what a slice of history. it comes with an original letter from the same Negociants of the wine dated 1877 to Madame Adolphe Lacroix of Banquiers, Nice thanking her for the remittance of 2352 French Francs for payment of an invoice of Madame la Baronne Mayer de Rothschild of Nice. The letter was sent from Bordeaux by A Perpignan & Freres de Soria via Marseilles to Nice – look at all the interesting postmarks
