Overview

Chateau Patache d'Aux is located in the far north of the Medoc in the commune of Begadan. It was owned by the Lapule family and is now part of the Antoine Mouiex stable (since 2016), consistently producing one of Bordeaux's best value clarets.

Chateau Patache d'Aux has 43 hectares of vineyards planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot at a density of between 7,000 - 9,000 vines/ha.

The grapes are fermented in a combination of stainless steel, wooden and concrete tanks. The wine is then matured in oak barrels 30% new for 12 months before being lightly fined and then bottled.

Chateau Patache d'Aux produces robust fruit driven clarets that, whilst eminently appealing in youth, tend to show at their best with 4-5 years of bottle ageing. This is considered as one to watch as the new owners invest heavily.
