In the Decanter magazine,July 2016 Edition,under the title "50 Top Rhone Reds",Decanter's expert panel tasted through 120 Rhone red wines,mostly from the Rhone Village Appellation Controlee wines.
Tasting notes and photographs of 50 of the best wines were published and the No.1 top award as the best wine (out of 120 wines tasted) was awarded to the 2013 Crozes-Hermitage Cave de Tain.


Decanter Tasting notes on this wine:-

"Dark nose of liquorice-spiced fruit with savoury touches of pepper and tar.A green backbone and ripe,chewy tannins bring structure nto the silky palate.Medium-bodied and showing good intensity.Drinking now".

"Classic Syrah nose with perfumed fresh berry fruit underscored by rich notes of pepper and roasted meats.The alluringly supple and persistent palate offers a ripe fruit core delicately enrobed in soft tannins.Delicious Syrah silkiness.Drink 2016-2018".

These bottles were bought on release and have since been stored undisturbed in a purpose-built,temperature-controlled cellar.They are A1 condition,with wine fills into neck and labels and capsules in a pristine state.
