A bottle of the 1971 Ch. Margaux. Lavel very cellar soiled, almost disintegrating; level to very top shoulder; capsule in excellent condition; colour clear and bright with orangey hue.
Michael Braodbent in his "Vintage Wine" say: "Now fully mature-looking with a ruddy amber colour and a nowhere-to-go orange rim. Initially an attractive 'leaf mould' nose which opened up richly. Fairly sweet, nice weight and shape, lean yet fleshy." 3 stars
