Description

Two of the most recent tasting notes on CellarTracker:-

"First time to try 1970s Bordeaux Left Bank.Las Cases is one of the best among the others.Ruby color with garnet rim.Very intense nose,cedar,cassis,tea,sun-dried blackcurrant.Tannin is high and fine, medium+ body, with pronounced dark fruit flavor intensity, plus cedar, cassis, liquorice, spice. The finish is dry and very, very long (30 seconds)".
(98 Points).

yiuwing_hk. (CellarTracker. 18/8/2012).

"Nose is dried red roses and Great-Grandma's face powder from my childhood, with some evident classic St.Julien briar blackberries fruit.Palate is taut, sharp blackberry classic St.Julien fruit and good harmonious acidity, but the tannin has completely faded which leaves it rather thin and short on the finish. Then,to contradict myself, pleasant, dusty powdered tannins on the back end. This is now a Dowager Duchess of a wine but is still with surprising un-tertiary fruit (no prunes here...) that leaves a long mouth-coating taste for several hours and demonstrates its past power, despite its somewhat faded grace today. To my surprise,a half-finished bottle left uncorked in the fridge was even better the second day,and just kept getting better and better".
(91 Points).
